AS I LAY DYING - THE STATEMENT FROM TIM LAMBESIS //
There has been a lot of news about As I Lay Dying in the last few days and weeks. Actually, there should be a big reason for the Americans to celebrate.
The new album "Through Storms Ahead" will be released next Friday and the title serves as an omen for the band and especially for frontman "Tim Lambesis" for what is to come for him and the future of "As I Lay Dying".
After it was announced that the upcoming tour for the new album had been completely cancelled, one band member after another left the band in the following days.
Now singer "Tim Lambesis" reported via Instagram:
"Hello everyone,
I needed time to process everything that had recently happened AILD had happened. When I think about it, I certainly agree that there was an unhealthy environment that made it unrealistic to go on a new tour with the previous line-up. It had become difficult to sort out even the smallest details and I admit that I often struggled heavily with my vision for the future of AILD even if others think it should go in a different direction.
It makes me sad to reflect on the behavior, communication and interaction that led to the cancellation of the tour. Phil and I were no longer on the same page personally, creatively and financially. The discussions during this time led to him deciding to leave first and shortly after the rest of the tour members deciding to leave as well as they did not want to continue without him. Unfortunately, that was not the order in which everything was made public as some statements were rushed out in the midst of chaotic times to counter rumours.
I fully support the boys' decisions to exit and believe it is the best thing for everyone at this time. However, my door will always remain open to speak directly about anything as I believe that closing down communication has led to many assumptions and issues of my own.
Now, as for the future: AILD was founded on persistence and determination. For those who know the early years from 2000 to 2004, you know that over 20 people (who I am incredibly grateful for) came and went to bring this vision that I have had in my head since I was 19 to life. I am excited to build a new team and create an atmosphere that is supportive, positive and creative.
